04 — SHARING THE GOSPEL

Debrief the practice (10 mins)

  1. What have you been learning about in Scripture? How has God been using the BREAD practice to speak to you? What has God been doing in your life?

  2. How did last week’s practice go? What was impactful, difficult, surprising, or meaningful for you?

Discussion (30 mins)

  1. Watch 04 – Sharing The Gospel. What stood out to you?

  2. Think about when you first heard the gospel — what was that experience like for you?

  3. If someone asked you why you believe in and follow Jesus, what would you say?

  4. How would you explain the gospel to someone who has never heard it before?

  5. If you could share one Bible verse to share the gospel with someone, what verse would you choose?

  6. Who is one person in your life that you could share the gospel with this week?

Prayer (10 mins)

Spend some time praying together. Ask God to give you opportunities to share the gospel with others this week.

Practice for this week:

The practice for this week is to practice sharing your faith with one another. Spend the week learning the gospel and practicing how to share it (either by yourself or with someone in your group).

Here are a few methods:

  1. Tell the story of Jesus – he died and rose again to save us from our sins.

  2. Share the gospel using one verse:

      • John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

      • Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

      • Romans 10:9 – If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

      • John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  3. Use the G.O.S.P.E.L acronym:

G – God created us to be with Him (Jn. 17:3).

O – Our sins separate us from God (Isa. 59:2).

S – Sins cannot be removed by good deeds (Eph. 2:8; Gal. 2:21).

P – Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again (1 Cor. 15:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:21).

E – Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone has eternal life (Rom. 10:9).

L – Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever (Jn. 6:47).
