05 — STARTING CONVERSATIONS
Debrief the practice (10 mins)
What have you been learning about in Scripture? How has God been using the BREAD practice to speak to you? What has God been doing in your life?
How did last week’s practice go? What was impactful, difficult, surprising, or meaningful for you?
Discussion (30 mins)
Watch 05 – Starting Conversations. What stood out to you?
Think about when you first heard the gospel — what was that experience like for you? How do you typically feel about starting conversations about Jesus? Excited? Nervous? Unsure?
Why do you think some approaches to evangelism can turn people away rather than draw them in?
How can we naturally transition from small talk to deeper, spiritual conversations without making it feel forced? Put another way, what are some natural ways to bring up Jesus in everyday conversations?
What are some good open-ended questions we can ask to encourage meaningful conversations about faith?
What’s one way you can step out of your comfort zone this week and start a faith conversation with someone?
Prayer (10 mins)
Spend some time praying together. Ask God to give you opportunities to start conversations about Jesus. Ask God to use those conversations to lead people to Jesus and increase your faith and boldness.
