02 — Living a missional life

Debrief the practice (10 mins)

  1. What have you been learning about in Scripture? How has God been using the BREAD practice to speak to you? What has God been doing in your life?

  2. How did last week’s practice go? What was impactful, difficult, surprising, or meaningful for you?

Discussion (30 mins)

  1. Watch 02 – Living a Missional Life. What stood out to you?

  2. What are some of the biggest fears or hesitations you have about sharing your faith?

  3. Most Christians have never led someone to Christ. Why do you think this is?

  4. Why do we think evangelism is only for pastors or people with special training?

  5. What are some areas of your life where you can be intentional about sharing your faith (e.g. work, school, gym, family, friends, etc.)?

  6. What is one practical step you can take this week to be more intentional in evangelism?

Prayer (10 mins)

Spend some time praying together. Ask God to make you a witness for Jesus. Ask him to use you and your life to lead people to Jesus.

Practice for this week:

This week's practice is to make a plan for evangelism:

  1. Pray for opportunities – Write down the opportunities and areas of influence in your life. These could include your school, job, or the gym you go to. It includes your family and friends. Write down any opportunity in your life and pray for them.

  2. Pursue relationships – Write down the names of people you can be intentional with. Who do you need to schedule a coffee with or grab a beer with after work? Who can you have over for dinner or start up a conversation with?

  3. Prepare – 1 Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone…” Think about what you would say to that person if you had the opportunity to tell them about Jesus. What would you tell them? Take some time to write out what you would like to say. That way, you will be prepared when the time comes.

  4. Push yourself to action – Don’t just sit back and wait for the right opportunity to fall out of the sky. That probably won’t happen. Instead, ask yourself what action steps you need to take to make this plan happen. Write them down, and then step out of your comfort zone and do them.
